The door lock of a crane operator’s cab may look like a small component, yet it plays a critical role in three areas—safety, equipment protection and operating efficiency. Its key functions can be summarized as follows:
1. Prevents falls from height
The cab is usually high in the air. If the lock fails and the door swings open unexpectedly, the operator can easily slip and fall. A high-strength lock with redundant latching points stays secure even under continuous vibration or gusty wind, forming the first “lifeline” for work at height.
