1. Integrated Control FunctionsThe combination switch consolidates frequently used operations—such as turn signals, lights, windshield wipers, and horn—into a single lever or panel, allowing the operator to change modes quickly and minimizing distraction.2. Safety Interlocks & AlarmsCertain combination switches are linked to override circuits (e.g., overload protection, limit switches) that can forcibly bypass safety limits (height cut-off, anti-two-block, etc.). Misuse can create serious hazards; overrides must therefore be used only in conjunction with the overload protection system to prevent unsafe operation.3. Special-Scene AdaptationOn rough-terrain container handlers, the same switch cluster also governs cab movement—raising/lowering cylinders, extending/retracting long-stroke rams—so the operator can reposition the cab to suit uneven ground.4. Auxiliary Function ExpansionModern cranes may use the combination switch to trigger warning devices (e.g., slewing alarm) or adjust steering-column angle, enhancing both comfort and safety.
